Hey, sorry I'm a bit behind with the post Frankfurt diary but here it is!! Plus the excuse is we just moved house and I've had a cold, so things have been a little crazy, but we're all settled in now, the place is great and my nose is a bit clearer...

So, a few weeks back I got picked up with Rob and taken to Heathrow where a flight delay got us to Frankfurt too late to soundcheck for the show so we had to do it first thing Wednesday morning. It was great to be back in Frankfurt, it was my 5th time there and 2nd time for Rob and Farid so we all knew what the week would involve. One of the great things about going there is the hotel, it's the same every year and the bar staff are always pleased to see us (can't think why that is...). The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday, and we did 4 shows a day, plus the Marshall Party for dealers around the world on the Wednesday night. The first couple of days which are trade were a touch quiet but things soon started picking up. My good pal Nick 'Lunchbox' Bowcott came in from New York on the Wednesday afternoon and spent the rest of the show getting up and jammin' everyday. It was totally cool to see him and we had some great nights in the bar together. Plus my old pal Bernie Marsden turned up out of the blue and he got up with us and we did some great blues jams. We played great every show, but my fingers started to suffer after a few days with blood blisters etc. but hey, that's rock n' roll!!!! Jim was great, he signed all day every day and was still in the bar when I went up most nights.
My pal Tank came out too to hang out with us for a couple of days and we all had a blast, it was great to spend time with everybody from Marshall and of course Rob and Farid. On the last night we had a bit of a jam in the hotel bar, with me on an upside down right handed guitar, and Farid on trays and glasses. Steve, one of the R&D guys from Marshall sang Wishing Well with us, it was a good old time, but thanks to big Keith, who by then was serving the drinks from the bar, I had a bit too much and flew home the following day pretty hungover.
We also got word from the guys in Moscow that our album is almost done. Finally!!! I don't want this to be the most hyped thing since Star Wars Episode 1, but it will be cool, keep an eye here for when it'll be ready.
Plus, I had some surprise visitors while we were in frankfurt, Christina and the guys in the band came over from Hamburg where they're recording. It was great to see them again and catch up on old times touring in Austria, they're keeping really busy touring and recording in Germany and she's pretty big out there now which is totally cool. We all went out for dinner on the last night (pre bar jam/piss up) to an american style restaurant I try to get to every year towards the end of the trip, 'cos you can get a good burger in there which is great after eating German crap all week.
So a good time was had by all and I got back on the Sunday afternoon to a big smile from Ellie Grace.
We're doing a private function this weekend quite local which will be cool, for Steve, Jim's driver. It's at his rugby club for all his rugby playing mates so it should be fun. Then we're onto London, Nick's gonna be joining us there too so it'll be a great show, don't miss it!!!
