So, after everything that happened back in Stafford with Farid not being there, and then lining up our good pal Karl Randall for the following shows at the National Rock & Pop Festival, Farid made it back for them after all. This is the second time we've let Karl down, the first being for Frankfurt when a similar thing happened. It's cool that Karl is such a nice guy and wasn't pissed off at us, so thanks once again Karl!!!!
In the end we had a great time at the National Rock & Pop Festival, and they recorded it too, so it was a great excuse to start putting video up on youtube. Thanks for all the comments on the stuff up there. We went through our home video stuff and compiled the Moscow/Kiev video from last year and there's one coming from this year's Frankfurt Musik Messe too.
A couple of weeks after the Rock & Pop thing, we were up in Glasgow and Morecambe for a couple of Roadshows. Farid came in on the Monday night and we went up in the car with Jim and Victoria on the Tuesday morning to Glasgow. Rob got back from holiday that morning so flew up in the afternoon. It was my 3rd time in Glasgow in the last year, having played twice there last year with Waysted, and I forgot all about the stupid no smoking in public places law they have there now, like Florida. What a pain in the arse. The show that night was totally cool, and after we ended up in a great Indian restaurant which was open until 4am, and it was most amusing watching Farid trying to understand all the scottish accents at the table, he did pretty well actually...
The following morning I overslept and when I got down to breakfast everybody except Rob & Farid were waiting in the cars, shit!!! After quickly grabbing my stuff we headed down to Morecambe and stopped in the lake district for a drink on the way, me and Farid watched the Usual Suspects in the car on the way, he'd never seen it before and to my amazement, he guessed the ending. We also passed the venue for the Penrith show, where we're heading back to in a couple of weeks.
The show in Morecambe that night was great, a much bigger and better venue than in Glasgow the night before. The crowd were great and we all had a cool time.

A couple of days later, we went to Jim's birthday party which is always a great time and was also good to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while, Bernie Marsden was there and Nicko (McBrain), who flew back from his home in Florida that day and was flying back the following morning. That's dedication for you.

Next week, we're starting something with Marshall which is new and different and is going to be totally cool. Can't say any more at this point but keep your eyes here and all will be announced in due course.

And also, for those visitors going to the Penrith show, it will be the first chance to purchase the new CGB merchandise, we've got t'shirts, baseball caps and beany hats to start with, and they'll be available from the new online store which will be launching in the next couple of weeks too.
